Located entirely within the city limits of El Paso between highways 20 and 375, little Lake Ascarate is stocked with channel catfish and rainbow trout by Texas Parks and Wildlife. The park in which the lake is located covers about 1000 acres and offers a variety of activities including golf, fishing, and numerous programs for children. Because of it's proximity to Interstate 10, Lake Ascarate is a logical stop when traveling through El Paso. "El Paso fishing" may sound like an oxymoron, but here's the site that proves that you can find fish almost anywhere on this planet, if you look hard enough. Texas Fishing License and Regulations
