Fed by the Colorado and  many other area creeks,  Lake Travis is located on the  northwest edge of Austin. The lake covers about 18,900 acres and was impounded in 1942.

Common fish species include: largemouth bass, Guadalupe bass, white bass, catfish, striped bass, sunfish.

Bastrop

Texas Parks & Wildlife

Located about 2.5 miles northeast of Bastrop, Lake Bastrop covers about 900 acres and is feed area creeks.

Fish species of interest to sport fisherman include:  largemouth bass;   bluegill; carp; sunfish; and blue, channel and flathead catfish.

Fayetteville

Texas Parks & Wildlife

Located about 3 miles west of Fayetteville, and 6 miles east of LaGrange, Fayette County Lake covers about 2,400 acres and is feed area creeks.

Fish species of interest to sport fisherman include:  largemouth bass, catfish, and redear sunfish. 

Stillhouse Hollow

Located about 3 miles west of Belton, Stillhouse Hollow Lake is often referred to as one of the best kept secrets in Texas in that it tends to be overshadowed  Lake Belton.

Fish species of interest to sport fisherman include largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, channel catfish, flathead catfish, crappie, and white bass.

Belton

Located just West of Temple and north of Belton, Lake Belton covers about 12,500 acres and is fed by the Leon River and several area creeks.

Fish species of interest to sport fisherman include:  largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, hybrid striped bass, channel catfish, flathead catfish, white bass, sunfish.
