Located bout five miles west of Colorado City, between Big Spring and Sweetwater, Texas. Colorado City Reservoir is approximately 1,618 acres and is fed by the area creeks. The lake is connected to the Colorado River at the south end by Morgan Creek.

Fish species of interest to sport fisherman include: largemouth and white bass; red drum; catfish.
